Tabletop TogetherOn this special early episode of Find Your Table:
How does a group of friends playing games together grow into a convention that brings thousands of people around the table?
In this episode of Find Your Table, I sit down with Alex Kammer of Gamehole Con to talk about the journey from a local gaming group to building one of tabletop gaming’s most recognizable conventions.
But this isn’t really a story about convention halls, badges, or schedules.
It’s about the people behind them.
Alex shares how Gamehole Con grew, what it takes to build a community people want to return to, the challenges of getting bigger without losing what made the community special, and the importance of the hosts, GMs, volunteers, organizers, and friends who make the experience possible.
We also get into the moments that went wrong, the pressure of putting on a major event, and what Alex has learned about creating a place where people don’t just attend; they feel like they belong.
Because the games may be what bring people through the door.
The people are what bring them back.
