Someone asks, “What board game should I try next?” and before they even finish the question, you're already reaching for the box.
Maybe it's the game that hits your table almost every weekend. Maybe it's a hidden gem you think deserves way more attention. Or maybe it's an absolute monster that takes six hours to finish, requires a 40-page rulebook, three YouTube tutorials, and a minor degree in mathematics just to understand your first turn.
Whatever it is, we want to hear about it.
Welcome to Tabletop Together's Game of the Week, where we're putting the spotlight on the games our community loves—and this week, we're letting you choose the game.
What Makes a Board Game Worth Recommending?
There are thousands of board games out there, but only a handful become the games we recommend over and over again.
And what's interesting is that everyone's answer is different.
For one person, it might be a massive strategy game filled with difficult decisions and hours of planning. Someone else might love a quick card game that can be taught in five minutes.
Some of us want dungeon crawlers, miniatures, character progression, and epic campaigns.
Others just want something that gets everyone around the table laughing.
That's one of my favorite things about this hobby.
There isn't one "right" way to enjoy board games.
The best game isn't necessarily the one with the highest rating, the most expensive components, or the biggest box.
Sometimes the best game is simply the game your group can't stop playing.
What's the Game That Always Hits Your Table?
Think about your own collection.
If someone came over tonight and said:
"Pick one game. What are we playing?"
What are you grabbing?
Maybe there's a game sitting on your shelf with a worn-out box because you've played it dozens of times.
Maybe you've discovered something recently that completely surprised you.
Or maybe there's a game your group has played so many times that everyone knows exactly what's going to happen when someone makes that move.
Those are the games we want to hear about.
And don't worry—we aren't judging.
If your favorite game is a massive strategy game that consumes your entire Saturday, we want to hear about it.
If it's a 15-minute party game, we want to hear about that too.
If it's something you've played 100 times and your friends are begging you to bring literally anything else...
We definitely want to hear about that one. 😂

One of the best parts of being involved in the board game community is discovering games you might never have found otherwise.
There are huge releases everyone knows about, but there are also thousands of fantastic games sitting on shelves waiting for the right person to discover them.
Sometimes all it takes is another gamer saying:
"You've GOT to play this."
That's what we want Game of the Week to be about.
Not just what's popular.
Not just what's new.
What are people actually playing and loving?
Maybe your recommendation introduces someone to their new favorite game.
Better yet, maybe someone already owns that game but hasn't been able to find anyone interested in playing it.
That's where community comes in.
Because discovering a great board game is only half the battle.
Finding the people to share the table with is what makes it memorable.
